Return of the Great Gazoo

I love this guy. I'm a big Flintstones fan in general. I always wanted to do my own take on them, and here is one of those images - drawn and rendered around 2000 or so. My friend Kurt Kanellos is one of the best voice actors and can mimic all the Flintstones characters extremely well - he'll have me laughing until I cry. In our take on the Flintstones, Gazoo is more of a slave to Fred, who is forced to carry out his every whim to earn the opportunity to return to his home planet. Gazoo completely despises Fred, and even though he can do anything magically, Fred forces him to do horrible things "by hand". Maybe one day when I retire, I'll get to do my Flintstones homage.

so...I'm checking out girls on Myspace...(because that is a fun thing to do when you are bored and stupid) and swam across this girl who's hero is listed as "the sammich". I searched the internet for a glimpse of THE "Tuna Sammich" (because I think funny drawings impress anonymous women, but I came up empty. Realizing that I could never witness the beauty of that character ever again, I felt empty and sad. Feeling empty and sad made me write this note.....along with the idea that I could say hello to you once again, if only in a surreal "bump into" at the googlemall of life.
Cheers Mr. Pryor.
Your talents appear to run as deep as ever.
If possible, could you please post the lyrics to Tuna Sammich and maybe a little drawing of that little lunchtime avenger.

Mr. Dave,
I think there's definately the need for a Great Gazoo Fan Club, and you've been unanimously elected Prez.
G.G. has always been my favorite Flinstones character, probably because he was so un-Flinstonelike. Does anybody know who did the voice for this fellow?

Great shapes in this one, Dave. Love to see more design experiments like this.

Hey Dave B,

Nice to hear from you. I'll have to get to that request sometime soon. I don't think that posting the lyrics will do justice to them, but if it makes you happy, then I'll do it. Maybe a posted storyboard with lyrics would be in order.

Take care,
Dave
